Recipes

Recipes have ingredients and instructions. Recipes are also placed on menus. Recipes can contain other recipes. In order to place a recipe on a menu or another recipe, the recipe must have its own inventory item. In this case an Inventory Item on a menu or recipe is a recipe item. See the Create Inventory Item below for creation of recipe inventory item from the Recipes screen.

Header:

Recipe Category – select the category from the list; only categories that are recipe categories will appear in this list

Recipe Name – enter a name that will appear on other recipes and in lists of recipes

Recipe No – generated by FSRMS

Inventory ID – generated by FSRMS when an inventory item is created for this recipe

Time to Prepare – reference only, in minutes

Number of Servings – enter number of servings for one recipe; used to calculate costs for banquets and sales invoices

Serving measured in – reference only

Measure per Serving – reference only

Calories per Serving – reference only

Cost per Serving – calculated by FSRMS based on ingredients and their quantities and costs

Ingredients Add – opens ingredients screen – enter quantity used in recipe (will convert fractions)

Del – delete ingredient line

Edit – double click on ingredient to edit quantities

Instructions – enter instructions in this free form box

Menus:

Add – opens Menu-Recipes screens to allow selection of menu from list

NOTE: Recipe must have an associated inventory item in order to be placed on a menu or in another recipe. Use Create Inventory Button to inventory item for the recipe before attempting to add recipe to a menu

Delete – delete this recipe from this menu

Buttons:

Create Inventory Item – open inventory screen for creation of associated item in inventory; required to place recipe on menus and other recipes

View Inventory Item – open inventory screen to view inventory item associated with this recipe

Done – save and exit Recipes screen

Category Setup – open setup screen to add or edit inventory and recipe categories

Measurement – open setup screen to add or edit units of measure for purchase or sale
